New Curbside Collection Program for CVRD Electoral Areas

The CVRD provides curbside recycling collection to more than 12,000 homes in all nine Electoral Areas, and curbside garbage collection to almost 5,000 homes in Cowichan Bay, Sahtlam, Glenora, Skutz Falls, Saltair, Youbou and Meade Creek (Electoral Areas D, E, F, G and I).

Starting mid-September 2013, the CVRD is modernizing the curbside program by moving to an automated collection system. Under the new program, Electoral Area residents will receive new easy-roll totes for their curbside materials, which will get picked up on collection day by a new automated truck with a mechanical arm.
