Ecostravaganza!

The CVRD's Zero Waste team unofficially launched the new Zero Waste Challenge and the 5 R's at the Ecole Mill Bay Ecostravaganza event on June 4, 2011. Christy and the team had crafts for the kids, a bean bag toss and kitchen catcher giveaways that were a huge success. It was a beautiful day and they were excited to share the message with parents and their kids about how to reduce the amount of products we consume and garbage we create. They even had a bucket with worms to explain how composting works and how easy it is to set up at home. Speaking of composting, check out one of our local Zero Hero's, Karen Rainey, who takes all of the compost from her school to her backyard composter.
